Living in the racing capital of the world has exposed us to every corner of motorsports, but dirt oval racing holds a special place in our story. It sits at the crossroads of “me and pops built this in the garage” and “a Fortune 500 funded team is chasing the title.” On an imperfectly prepped dirt surface, those worlds collide in front of thousands of fans hungry to watch racers battle for bragging rights.
We grew up in the stands watching midgets and sprint cars. Over the years, we’ve lightly dipped our toes in this racing simply because it’s fun — and because it’s part of who we are. Dirt oval racing has grown in popularity, especially in two areas that align naturally with our expertise: traditional 4-cylinder dirt midgets and the fast-growing front-wheel-drive divisions.
In 2025, we were fortunate to be part of 3 incredible Championship title runs, and we’re grateful to the teams who trusted 4 Piston power to get them there.
Tyler Nelson — USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets Champion
Tyler Nelson captured the USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets Championship in his Curtis Motor Cars–backed Lynk Midget, powered by a 4 Piston USAC D2-spec engine program and tuned by our own Luke Wilson.
This highly competitive, 25-race series delivers some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing in the country, and we’re proud to have played a role in Tyler’s championship season.

Reid Christiansen — SCDRA National Champion
Reid Christensen clinched the SCDRA Championship in dramatic fashion, running 4P power tuned by Jason Waters. His season included the coveted $100,000 XR Woombah win in Kokomo, followed by the SCDRA title to cap an unforgettable year.
SCDRA (Sport Compact Dirt Racing Association) is one of the fastest-growing forms of dirt motorsports, known for its accessibility, fierce competition, and massive fan appeal — not to mention serious payouts. 4 Piston is proud to serve as a marketing partner with SCDRA for 2026 as the series continues its upward momentum.

Jace Sparks — MARA Midget Auto Racing Association Champion
Jace Sparks earned the MARA Championship with remarkable consistency throughout the season. 4 Piston power entered the program mid-season for nine of the 26 races, and we look forward to building a long-term relationship with the team as they continue to chase success.
