The 4P Timing Chain Tensioner pairs OEM build quality with an internal mechanical stop to prevent engine damage in the event of a failure. These tensioners are robust and can last tens of thousands of miles, but sometimes in motorsports things happen. In the event your car gets flipped around, flipped over, turns your engine forward then backward abruptly, missed gears and mechanical overrevs...that can be really hard on any tensioner. The 4P tensioner is still hydraulic and operates just like OEM, but can catch on the mechanical stop should you ever have one of those unforeseen events.
